House Teams

Our House Teams are selected at the end of each academic year by our Year 6 class

St Agnes - Green House

St. Agnes of Rome was born in 291 AD and raised in a Christian family. Agnes was very beautiful and belonged to a wealthy family. Her hand in marriage was highly sought after, and she had many high ranking men chasing after her. However, Agnes made a promise to God never to stain her purity. Her love for the Lord was great and she hated sin even more than death!

Agnes was sentenced to death. At first, Agnes was tied to a stake, but either the wood would not burn or the flames parted away from her. This prompted an officer to draw his sword and behead the girl. It is believed that her blood, which poured out to the stadium, was soaked up with cloths by Christians.

Her Feast Day is January 21st

St Luigi - Red House

St. Luigi began to prepare for the priesthood at the age of twelve with his two brothers. He was ordained at the age of 23 and began to care for those who lived in famine and poverty. With a group of priests and teachers, he began to teach girls who were poor and abandoned. They taught them embroidery, sewing and reading, writing and arithmetic. He gave them all his material possessions and he went around begging for himself.

He devoted his life to the help of others, and overall, a great trust in the Lord.

St Carlo Acutis - Blue House

Carlo Acutis was an English-born Italian catholic website designer who documented Eucharistic miracles and approved Marian apparitions. Carlo catalogued them on a website he created before his death from leukaemia.

He was noted for his cheerfulness, computer skills, and deep devotion to the Eucharist, which became a core theme of his life. Carlo, was beatified on 10 October 2020, and showed us that holiness and even sainthood are possible for teenagers and young people today, in the ordinary circumstances of everyday life. Saints can wear Nike and jeans, play computer games and surf the net too!

St Josephine Bakita - Yellow House

Bakhita was sold several different times. Eventually, she was sold to an Italian family living in Sudan. Here is where she first experienced kindness since the time she was kidnapped. When this Italian family decided to move back to Italy, Bakhita was heartbroken and the family sold her to another family, the Michielis. Fortunately, this family treated her kindly too.

When the Michielis had a baby named Mimmina, Bakhita became her babysitter and later, friend. These two were inseparable. They sent their daughter Mimmina to a convent for school and Bakhita accompanied the girl. While at this convent, Bakhita first learned about God and the Catholic faith. After several months she received the sacraments and was given a new name, Josephine. Her soul was filled with joy.

Her Feast Day is February 8th
