    Our House Teams are selected at the end of each academic year by our Year 6 class

    St Catherine of Bologna - Green House

    St. Catherine of Bologna was an Italian nun, artist, and writer who was very good at painting, music, and writing. She is the patron saint of artists because she used her talents to praise God. She was born in 1413, joined a religious order called the Poor Clares, and helped found a new convent in Bologna, where she became the abbess. She died in 1463 and is remembered for her art and for helping others, especially through her writings on faith.  

    Her Feast Day is March 9th

     

    St Sebastian - Red House

    Saint Sebastian was a Roman soldier and Christian martyr who lived a long time ago. He was known for being brave and for his strong faith, even though being a Christian was dangerous. After he was sentenced to death by arrows, he was found alive and later died for his beliefs after speaking to the Roman Emperor. Because of the story of being shot with arrows, he is known as the patron saint of athletes, archers, and soldiers.

    His Feast Day is January 20th

     

    St Teresa of Calcutta - Blue House

    Saint Teresa of Calcutta, also known as Mother Teresa, was a nun who dedicated her life to helping the poor, sick, and orphaned in India. Born in 1910, she became a nun at age 18 and was sent to India, where she taught school for many years. She left teaching to help the very poor, founded the Missionaries of Charity to serve those in need, and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her work

    His Feast Day is September 5th

     

    St Augustine - Yellow House

    St. Augustine of Hippo was a religious leader and writer who lived long ago and is famous for his influential books about Christianity, like Confessions and City of God. He was born in North Africa, was highly educated, and eventually became the Bishop of Hippo. A major moment in his life was his conversion to Christianity, and he is considered one of the most important Christian thinkers in history.  

    Her Feast Day is August 28th
